Put them in 1 cage?

Hey guys and ladies, I really need advice from someone who has experience in this. I have 2 irn's snowy female albino not sure abt her age, and buster male grey, almost 5 months. So here's my issue, snowys cage is much larger than busters and he seems a little jealous of her cage and toys, he has different toys to hers.we had them both out the other night and buster went straight over to snows cage and inspected it from top to bottom. Since the cage is big enough to accommodate both, I was wondering if I should put them together in snows cage.I am worried thought as I don't know how they will react together and I don't want them hurting each other, as snow is a jealous lady. Should we take both out and put them in together? Or let him spend time in her cage with her every day gradually making the time longer to test their tolerance of each other? Finally, busters a clever boy who already says hello, come come, and that's a good boy to me on cue, he learns very fast! I've heard that if you put a talking male and female together the male stops talking? Any and all advice will be appreciated. Buster likes to eye and say a friendly hello to the budgies, so I'm inclined to think he won't hurt snowy, its her I'm worried about.

I personally would not put them together in a cage.

IRN's should not be placed with mixed species due to their aggressive tendencies.

An average sized AG weighs between 400-650 grams, much larger than an IRN, which is between 115 - 140 grams.

You mentioned that Snow is a jealous lady.
If they were caged together, and Snow, began getting jealous, she would probably attack the other birds.

It is not worth taking the risk.

Hi Antoinette, you misunderstood, Buster is a irn but he's grey in colour, sorry I typed in a way that was confusing blush blush! I had them both out again just now and Snowy doesn't show interest in him, she walkabouts on the floor ignoring everyone. So it propably won't be a good idea then?

Thank you for the advice, I'm admittedly still very stupid when it comes to them! But thanks to great people like you on parrot forum, I'm slowly getting there!

We are all here to learn and share with one another

You can usually tell when 2 birds can be housed together. Being the same species is a good start. I would let them inspect each others cage while you are home and the cage doors are open. If they start preening each other, roosting close to each other on the same perch, sharing food, that would be a good indication that they enjoy being together.

When or if you house them together, I would suggest to do it in the evening at bedtime. Very rarely will bird fight in the dark. Of course you would still need to keep an eye on them to make sure they are off sleeping.....even leaving the door half open.
