Re: Charlie prefers women with glasses?
Birds react differently to strangers, in other words people they are not involved with in their everyday life.
Some birds get extremely shy, sit there and just observe. Your bird obviously thrives on having visitors. How old is your bird, and how long have you been his guardian? Try wearing glasses, even a hat and see how he reacts. You mentioned : He never does these things for me and that really makes me sad. A bird never wants for much, just to be loved, feed and cared for. Keep doing exactly what you are doing, loving and caring for him. Perhaps try change the way you interact with him, when playing with him outside his cage, put music on and dance, that will get his attention immediately. Include him in whatever you are doing, and talk to him continuously. I handle my AG Mishka 99% of the time, feed him, clean his cage and train him. We have an incredible relationship. My son Steven picks him up very very seldom, he is scared he is going to get bitten. He refuses to kiss Steven or have his head scratched. Yet he loves talking to Steven for hours on end. When having visitors, being male or female, Mishka loves being handled by them, kissing and talking to them. Most of them having never interacted with a bird before. ![]()

Re: Charlie prefers women with glasses?
Thank you so much for the advice. I have only had Charlie and Lola for about 2 months now. He has had a difficult time adjusting at my house because in the past all the attention was paid to him, not Lola who never had a name until she came here. When they came here I had them both out of the cage one by one to trim their wings. He acted very typical but she was so gentle. I ended up taking her out a few more times but this caused him so much stress that I had to stop. My main concern is seeing them both happy and healthy. I interact with them both all day long and she does react to me more than he does. She and I bonded very quickly. When I saw his excitement over company coming in the house I was shocked. I would love for him to react to me this way. I suppose it would reassure me that he is happy.
