Sence my parrot hobby is rather contageous my girlfriend has decided to get a Indian Ringneck parrot. So on her behalf im asking about your experiences from this perticular type of parrot.

Does it learn to talk easily?
How's the typical ringneck behavior's?
etc etc...

Any feedback is welcome! :)

I breed, Sun, Green Cheek, Black Capped and Crimson Bellied Conures. Also IRN's
IRN r not a first time bird so if she dose not have larger bird experience I would say stay away. Very strong willed and need a very strong owner.

I have an IRN and he is so cute! He has a great personality and his speech is really good. He does tend to get stuck like a broken record but when he does his little wifey bird,a blue quaker, tells him "QUIT"! He is not loud and would prefer to talk rather than screech. In the past I owned one and she was not as socialized and would scream/screach all the time. As with all birds the personality/loudness can vary even within the same species. Out of my flock he and the quaker are my best talkers. My amazon still sounds garbled but we love her anyway. Amy is a breeder so I would pay attention to her advice. My bird would rather be in his cage with his wifey but if I have to handle him he does not bite me hard like my amazon loves to do. Ask her what it is that makes her want an IRN over other types and look at your options from there. There are so many others in that same size range so find out what qualities she likes/dislikes and go from there.
