A flock of fluffy chickens & one sweet little ringneck named Apollo.
Our baby is due to hatch next month, and then will be ready [if all goes well] in May!

We are so excited to have found a reputable breeder in our area who is friendly, knowledgeable and who takes great pride in her birds and babies.

I grew up around all sorts of parrots, my husband has never been around them.

I guess I'm just popping in to say Hello, and ask if anyone has any advice.

What did you wish you knew before you brought your IRN home?

How to I help my husband bond with our baby when he has no experience with them?

And any other tidbits or advice would be awesome :D
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting around the forum and getting to know everyone!

Buster turquoisegrey IRN male, Piper buttercup IRN female. 2 Budgies who will soon be relocating to my brothers home.
Wish I knew that they love pooping on my floors lol! Big blobs, I'm struggling to potty train, hehehe. Also wish I knew just how much they love shredding papers and anything else they get their hands on. They also have a keen interest in the smaller childrens toys for eg, cars. Just let hubby spend lotsa time with ur birdy, letting it perch as he goes around his usual business, giving its treats, and lots of conversation, IRN need to be handled daily to stay tamed.

blue/green indian ringneck "Peanut"
My husban never had any birds, our little Peanut is his first bird never mind a tame parrot and he not the biggest fan of animals, He bonded very quick to Peanut, we have had him little over 5months. Peanut come with me to work and he can't wait to get to my husband after work.

I have had owned a ringneck before but forgot how naughty they can be, I thinking I am at the buffing stage not fun, but will be worth it because Peanut is part of our family and we love him (think it a him)

Yes. yes. yes. I'm completely crossing my fingers that we don't have to experience a bluffing stage with Apollo!
