I give my birds bottlebrush branches with leaves and fruit attached. Anything from gum trees should be fine too. Be careful of anything that comes out of rainforesty areas and/or anything with black or blue fruits as they can be poisonous! If in doubt about ID of a plant or tree, check with your local Forestry or Ag. department - they're usually pretty good like that.
