Hi guys,

Long story short as of yesterday I am now the owner of a breeding pair IRN that came with what are said to be 2 x 6 week old babies. I would prefer them babies not end up caged birds like their parents.

Can anyone offer any advice on how to take over care and feeding. I know google should be my best friend on the topic but it really are too many different opinions so here we are :)

Also the babies look older then 6 weeks as the are already 1/2 the size of the parents, but from what i can see they still rely on mum and dad for food 100%.

Thanks in advance.

Since you are here asking about taking over the feeding & parenting of two IRN chicks, I'm going to assume you have never handfed chick before and on that basis I would suggest that while there are websites that do offer methods & techniques but there is always a danger of perforating a chick's crop and/or burning it with formula that is too hot, not to mention the danger of a chick aspirating from wrong or overfeeding a chick.....

I think I would find a local breeder to show me exactly what to do & how to do it and let me get hands-on experience before venturing out on my own.....
