Getting IRN back in cage?

Is there a reliable way to get an IRN back into it's cage if it hasn't learned to step up yet?

I spent well over an hour trying to get mine back in today and in the end I got lucky and managed to get him to "flee" into it.

Did you end up choosing to clip him?
How is your bonding/trust work going?

I'm still not entirely sure where he came from, or how you ended up with him. These details could all help us help you move forward :)

I haven't clipped him, he's pretty comfortable taking treats from my hand and being near me when he's outside his cage but he's still not fond of hands.

I got him from a breeder and he was in an aviary at the time, I assume he was raised by his mother because he doesn't seem very tame, although I've made a little bit of progress with him because he tries to bite me and runs away from everyone else lol.

Have you seen these? Sorry short of time so not sorted the wheat from the chaff. Let us know if you find one better than the others?

Thanks these were helpful, I've got him stepping up onto a piece of wood at the moment (not on command), but everytime I go to put it in his cage he growls, is it possible it's too large?

The item I use for target training doesn't get this kind of reaction.

Lol I have him walking on the stick now but he slowly moves along it so he can try and bite me :31:

Any ideas?

WALK FAST! or trade hands.....or oh, maybe put a guard around the stick like the hilt of a foil (sword) he can't get past.

Much better ideas than what I have been doing, dropping the stick and running away lol.

He doesn't fall he hovers in place.
