Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
Well I had a very surprising one this morning that was quite helpful. I forgot to put my phone on charge last night so it ran out of battery meaning no alarm clock to wake me up. Instead about 5 minutes before my usual alarm time I suddenly hear some distinct ringneck shouts. I woke up, realized that my phone was out of charge, saw the time on the clock then I looked over to the cause of the noise.

Sat on my open skylight was a lovely green Ringneck looking around and shouting away. It then turned to see me, pinned it's eyes, did a quick shake and took off. I wish I got a picture of it.

was certainly a surprising way to wake up

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
Ah that was nice, certainly better than fat wood pigeons we get. Not so good having to rush though.

it's not too bad. I set my alarm for an hour before I even have to move from my bed and then work is a short walk away so nothing too bad. Just meant I couldn't take my time getting ready. Was a funny moment when I saw it just sat on the skylight itself

Are you certain you weren't still in the land of nod and it was a dream? Perhaps if you were to leave the skylight open you would have a new bird before you know it.:D

Maybe it will be a regular visitor?

well he lives only a little bit from my place. See a couple of them in a tree across from my flat. Quite nice to sit and watch them zooming around

haha well it would be a new one having a wild bird choose to tame itself to a human. For now I quite like seeing them flying round the little estate I live in, there's a couple and they see happy. I every now and then see them near my work going off into the woods to forage. It's nice seeing them so free and at home considering how far the UK is from their natural environment. Definitely related to one of the ones Lee Hartney released a few years back, or maybe it's one of the ones Hendrix released? I do play a bit of his music on my guitar maybe that's attracted this one :p

Haha, that was fortunate! I'd love to be able to see wild Ringnecks outside my windows. I do get a lot of screeching of wild birds, but nothing exotic, lol.

well it's not to be expected over here, just because I'm near london where lots of ringnecks have been released in the previous decades. My uncle up north has a pair of barn owls living in some trees by his house so he often sees them too. Pretty cool how they will live close to us humans
