I adopted a Ringneck yesterday called bimbo! He was my friends and her son with special needs was stressing him out due to banging cage ect so he had started plucking his chest. I don’t think they handled him very much he is nearly one so they tell me. I bought him home yesterday he’s been quite not heard much out of him at there house he did a lot of shouting which I head. He seems quite calm and was eating my 9pm gave him some nice apple slices which he seems to enjoy. I’ve stopped his toys around and gererally quite happy I think. I’ve not noticed him pluck anything. Just wondering what is best way to start handling - I’ve never had a bird so other than what I’ve read up on I’m clueless!! And tips advice anything really would be grateful. I don’t want to leave handling ect too long

also just let the bird settle in. Get used to the sound of the house and its surroundings. Love and attention will go a long long way and when your confident then you can try hand feeding and get him/her used to your hands.
