I've heard a few people say that IRN's need regular handling to stay tame.
So if this is the case you probably need to earn his trust again.

Edit: This is just a guess but judging from another thread you've made
it could also be possible that he is ill and acting out of character
because of this.

Good point, Crayfish! Yes, let's eliminate medical problems first! Do you have a Certified Avian Vet? If not, here is a way to find one...

Regular vets often "wing it" with birds, although some are very dedicated and talented.
And here are some tips on general bonding. I agree, you may need to sort start over.

Good for you, for reaching out.

Have a wee forum search for bite pressure training.
Also, maybe he's just not in the mood :) I think if you ask a parrot to step up, the expectation is that they step up. But, watch his body language. Is he sleepy when you're trying? Does he look like he wants out? With out 5 month old rescue, we opened his cage door and just left it like that. It was soon pretty obvious when he wanted human attention, and by watching his behavior and being aware of his terms, he was able to build trust in us must more quickly.

At five months old, it could be just his bluffing stage.
