Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new baby!

Something that everyone who is new to owning birds has to adjust to, and is probably the most difficult thing to adjust to, is the serious issue with any type of fumes/scents. Usually people have pots/pans and bakeware that have a black, non-stick coating on them that contains Teflon and/or one or more of fluorocarbons/PFC's, such as PFOA's, PTFE's, etc. So the first thing you have to be certain of is that none of your pots/pans or bakeware have the black non-stick coatings that contain Teflon and/or any of the PFC's, and if they do, you absolutely must get rid of them and buy a new set that are either Ceramic non-stick, cast iron, real copper, stainless, etc. This is not at all optional, as one little whiff of fumes from these items will kill a bird pretty much instantly, and there's nothing at all you can do to help them once it happens.

The next issue is getting rid of any and all candles, scent items such as plug-in's, oil burners, wax burners, essential oil diffusers, incense, etc. Then the next issue is changing over to either the all-natural cleaners that are made from plant-enzymes and non-scented, or to simply start using white vinegar and water. You cannot use any type of scented cleaners, no all-purpose cleaners, no bathroom cleaners (extremely toxic), no floor cleaners, no carpet sprays or powders, no bleach, no ammonia, etc.

Birds have extremely sensitive respiratory systems, including their air sacs, and they can quite literally be killed almost instantly from just breathing in a small amount of cleaner, scented items/odor eliminators, candles, any type of smoke, etc. It's just a part of owning a bird that you have to submit to, otherwise you'll end-up with a dead bird. It's really that simple. And the Teflon/PFC thing is probably the one that a lot of people have trouble with, as I have seen many people on here refuse to replace their pot/pan sets...and they also don't think about other appliances that often contain the Teflon/PFC coatings inside of them, such as space heaters, blow dryers, basically anything that heats-up and emits air internally. You always have to make sure that any appliance that you buy is "Bird Friendly", contains no Teflon, no PFC's at all, etc., and usually the best way to be certain is to call the manufacturer and ask them directly about a specific product...

***As for "furniture polishes", I don't know of any that would be okay to use around birds, as they are usually very harsh, just like most types of glues, adhesives, paints, etc. What is the actual brand/name of this furniture polish that you are asking about? The purified water and olive oil are okay, and the orange oil is probably alright, I'd have to double-check that one to make sure that the scent/fumes from orange oil are not toxic to birds, as there are many natural, essential oils that are very toxic to birds, such as Tea Tree Oil....But the Carnuba Wax is what I would be worried about, and again, would have to research, as it's not something that we normally think about being emitted into the air as fumes...I do know that the only types of candles that are okay to burn around birds are non-scented candles made from Soy, as there are compounds/fumes from other types of non-soy candle wax that are toxic, so I'm not sure about Carnuba Wax...Keep in-mind that "All-Natural" and "Eco-Friendly" does not ever mean "Bird-Friendly"...

I'm going to look-up orange oil and carnuba wax and then reply back again...

MY best option is to buy car wash towels from a hardware or box store. Simply rub stained wood with it. It has the same effect as manicuring unpainted fingernails.
For a high luster shine/finish, you can purchase it that way or have the piece refinished in a dust-free environment.
I've HEARD of people using a drop of olive oil on a microfiber cloth then wiping immediately with another microfiber cloth.
