I’m in Australia, and the bird is supposedly a pied but I’m not sure it is

It looks like the normal wild ringnecks we have in South Africa
Mate if that bird is pied it's very lightly pied. The last picture you posted you can sort of see some yellowish patches but it's very hard to tell. It might have the genes for pied but not be showing? I dunno. I'm not up to snuff on IRN genetics.

The flock most likely formed of pet ringnecks who were set free. I'm pretty sure you need a permit to own ringnecks now. You'll see a large flock flying around before sunset. All green and very loud. They don't come very close though.

I asked a friend and he agrees looks like a dominant pied possibly with edged as well. Test breeding to a non pied to tell.
