Ever since my Indian ringneck has seen my lovebird shred paper he would try to imitate him by not shredding but by eating the paper and swallowing the paper in his cage
Is there any alternatives for paper that I could use for the bird-poop

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
stop using paper and just clean the cage bottom.
Paper can cause them to become impacted. Are you positive he is swallowing it?
If he eats paper, I would definitely watch him with his toys etc to ensure he isn't ingesting them as well.

yeah, they normally just shred, not eat paper.

There are plenty of cardboard or soft wood toys specifically for chewing and shredding. They are actually also very easy to make, I bought some natural hessian rope and thread through cardboard and soft wood pieces, my bird loves to destroy them, and my youngest son likes to make them
