Hi I'm new here and my name is Safeer ... I need some help with my parrot...

My Irn seems to be loosing feathers from the right side of beak and has been really aggresive recently. He hasn't had his ring line yet but he's trying to mate with the female ringneck.. and he also suddenly stopped saying the words I taught him..... What is up with him??

Hello Safeer323, welcome to the Forums!

If you have both your birds in one cage I would suggest you separate them as soon as possible. It could be that your male is wanting to mate with your female but she is rejecting his advances, and the missing feathers from the male's face may indicate that the female is doing so quite roughly! It is not unknown for female ringnecks to seriously injure or even kill their cagemates if they decide they don't like them. You can put the two cages side by side so they can still see and interact with each other, but it sounds to me like your hen isn't crazy about your male, at least not right now!

When I try to separate they don't seem to like it and start screaming until I put them back together and they also sleep very close to eachother even though the cage is big enough for both of them.
