I'm not 100% sure, but I may have a red breasted parakeet. What I do know is that he's a naughty bird.
I have a Mustache Parakeet that is very noisy almost all of the time. I'm wondering if I got another bird as company, will it help? Will she be quiet? Will they not get along? Is it okay to get another type of bird or is it best that I get another Mustache? Will it become double the screaming?

What are my best options here?

Please help!

Getting a second ( or third etc) parrot should be done because YOU want another parrot, not because you think your first one would like a friend. THere are typically 3 ways it can go. The new bird hates your first, the new bird ignores the first and lastly the 2 parrots become friends to the point of now excluding you. In the mean time, you have 2X the mess, 2X the expenses and you have to split your time now between 2 parrots, so they both get short changed. Plus you will need to quarantine the new parrot for 30-45 days to assure he does not bring in some disease or parasite. It would be far better to figure out why the first one is screaming all the time (usually because one or more of his needs are not being addressed), so you wind up with a happy, healthy, well engaged parrot, and THEN evaluate the desire for a second parrot.
