Hello

My black lori got in a bucket and killed a feeder mouse that was suppose to be fed to another bird. I did not think my lori would ever show interest in a mouse.

A breeder told me that a pair of lovebirds once killed a mouse that got in their cage when i told this to him?

Is this really not that strange then? Any idea the point of it? she flung it all over the place like a toy...

The mouse would have had an instant quick death if he was fed to my other bird who gives a quick blow to the head. I know it is not the best thing I do not like giving live prey and i like mice but this one bird just gets so much enjoyment out of it and wont touch frozen was trying to give her the best life possible I think she was wild caught, and I have not found other cheaper ways of getting lizards or small snakes for her.

I don't know about mouse killers, but some birds go a considerable distance to protect their space when they believe they or their families are in danger.....a number of years ago the whole house was awakened by a nesting pair of nandays about 2 am when the hen got bit by a brown recluse spider & her mate tore the cage apart until he got the spider and we think he ate it because all we could find was legs after we figured out what happened & my vet told me the hen was lost to a spider bite.....

What type of bird gets the mice? I know you keep several exotic birds besides the parrots :)

a big oropendola lol she will eat anything else

probably eat fish and in tact crabs also, snails etc.. She will get into cupboards and just break into stuff and open up bags.

She is sort of a rescue so might end up in a better place 1 day.

I'd love to see all of your birds! I think you have the most exotic collection.. Not just parrots but all sorts of other birds! What else do you have besides the Oropendola, Toucans and Aracaris, mynah...
