Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
I would recommend asking your CAV about this. It may turn out to be nothing, he may have the dna of a different mutation of Lorie in him from a past generation. It looks like a pattern to me which makes me not want to worry but it's always better to check with a professional than to have something wrong with them.

On a side note what is it like to live with one of these guys?

Agreeing with triggs here. It could be diet, it could be from general rough and tumble, or could be something else . Best check with an avian vet.
My GCC had this on the shoulder of her wings but she's been to a vet had tests and she's fine, so we reason it's just were and tear.

Thanks, I'm new to owning a bird, but my rainbow Lori is very, "talkative". Unfortuanately it loves its cage and always ends up back there and unfortuanately you can't tell the gender of a rainbow Lori by its feathers...
Many thanks, was very worried.

Sorry to say this but your birds cage looks a bit on the small side. If it is feather damage is it done in its cage?

Please also invest in some different types of perch for the sake of your little buddy's feet. There are some brilliant cages with play tops included for example, please consider this point.

We have a section on DIY your own toys also if you are interested? We choose to keep these this feathered beauties in our homes and they deserve the very best of everything IMO. They unfortunately are not given any say in the matter.
