I stayed with my sister for a short while last year. Left one morning, and came back to find my Hahn's Macaw gone. Cage, toys, and bird, were all sold to her friend for a mere $180!

That friend then resold her on Craigslist for the same price - $180.

Her name is Lola and she is probably back to being bare on her body. She was a rescue bird, and she was getting her feathers back in very well when she was sold off. She was on antibiotics for a crop infection, and likely needs more. She does have a legband with "BA 12" on it. I don't know for certain if it's a female, but when I got her she was saying "Lola" so I assumed that was her name and gender. She didn't know much beyond that word though.

Lola was last sold by Larry and Amy in Barnesville, GA around August 2014. She would have been housed in a BRAND NEW green cage. I don't know if they sold her on the Atlanta or Macon craigslist, but I have posted ads in both of them trying to track her. Neither Larry nor Amy have any contact information or even remember the name for the buyer anymore. Unfortunately, I got a very late start on tracking her because I moved out soon after, and was then lied to regarding her whereabouts until my nephew revealed the truth on Christmas Day.

She could be in almost anyone's hands by now. But she was my baby (all of my birds are), and I really want her back! Hopefully someone here knows someone who may have her or knows who does!

Did you file a stolen bird report with the police? I don't know whether posting a "possible reward" notice on different Georgia Craigslist sites would be beneficial or warn the current owners, but notifying the Georgia veterinarians association (Contact Us - Georgia Veterinary Medical Association), advising them of the situation & giving them the bird's band number might go further in helping you find your bird.

Although their vet search site is down for modification, it's supposed to be back up next week Search Under Construction - Association of Avian Veterinarians

Good luck.....
