Re: I lost maggie tonight!!

I was hoping Maggie had been found by now. She's still out there, and I think social media is probably the best platform at this point to find her!

Re: I lost maggie tonight!!

Can't believe it's been over 1,000 posts since this first happened.

Rob asks about her almost every day. For a non-bird guy who isn't even on the forum, your plight has really struck a chord for many of us, including my sweet husband.

My heart is so broken for you and for Maggie. I am sure she is either confused or living the life of a bird on vacation.

When my cat Nom Noms got out on my grandmas farm for three weeks, we were sure he would be eaten or killed. He was four paw declawed (I adopted him that way.) When my grandparents finally trapped him in one of their humane traps, that fat *** had put on over three pounds, and he was already over 16 pounds! Turns out a rotund, declawed cat can still catch field mice and birds like a feral kitten.

Anecdotal story that often escaped animals find their way, until they find their way back to us.

I don't mean this harshly, but I sincerely hope you're doing worse than she is. Best case scenario is she's being very well cared for and loved until you can be reunited again SOON.

Re: I lost maggie tonight!!

Mark, I noticed an article about a missing IRN in the San Diego Reader. It is an "alternative" free weekly publication covering local culture, politics, etc and has very wide distribution.
Anybody seen an Indian ring-neck around Point Loma? | San Diego Reader

Wonder if you have approached similar media in San Antonio? A quick search yielded the San Antonio Current, Texas Observer, and San Antonio Express-News. Forgive the question if you have, it has been a while and much has been discussed in this thread.

Re: I lost maggie tonight!!

Actually that is a sun conure, and it appears to be the one that was lost on May 5, 2012... SO, THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA HAVE A HAPPY ENDING...

Four years. Bird was lost on Marbach (near Adams Hill) and has apparently been hanging out in the trees around Sea World.

Sounds like it's time to go to that same area. I sent you that FB post from the bird found 74 MILES from home only a few weeks after escaping, and it was just a small bird. You said it's also been windy there. For a giant macaw, especially a well-trained flighted bird, I wouldn't put it past her to be within a much larger radius.

I'm no bird psychologist and certainly not an authority on any of this, but I think expanding the search is the only option at this point.
