I was walking with my dog just now and there's a bird calling out and it sound really close. I can't seem to pin it down if it's coming from an open window or not. It I e never heard home before. There was an African grey lost a month ago about 5 miles away. I feel so bad I can't seem to find home but I look super creepy going into people's yards with my flashlight at 3:00 in the am. Not to mention I'm 6' 300 lbs and in a hoody. I was playing a game on my phone and bang the same exact whistle as Timneh been looking for 20 mins and I am no closer to finding Sybil if it is sybil and I think she moving maybe trying to find me also. There's a decent amount of light on me was hoping maybe she'd come to me.

It's so hard to tell there's a window open and a light on in the house by where I hear the whistling so maybe someone has a new African grey. But I'm not so sure so odd I feel so bad if it is a lost bird and the other thing is I don't hear anybody whistling back. Timneh and I whistle back and forth all day. What's the odds of this bird being in the same spot in the morning? Well later in the morning. My heart jumped when I first heard it like somehow Timneh got out of her cage and the house and followed us. I lost Timneh for about 20 mins a few monthes ago and it was terrifying for her and me. My neighbor found her in his bushes I had half the street looking in a few short minutes it pus to have good neighbors. As I'm walking away I'm still bein called my heart is breaking.the way my hearing is 6 surgeries so far o can't pin point the location and that was the same problem when I lost Timneh.

Maybe this bird ??? is returning to the area you heard a whistle to roost? Keep whistling! :)

Have you any of Timneh's whistles recorded on your phone, if so you could play those as well?

Wouldn't it be great if it was the lost parrot?

Thats a great idea I will record her. It would be something if it was. I thought it odd that at 3:00 in the morning a bird would repeatedly call out to me. I've never heard a parrot there before in the past few years either.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I'd call the owner and tell them what you heard and the general vicinity where you heard it.

A CAG will shut up and hide if it's scared if you are close, unless it's someone they want to find them.

If the bird figured out the person responding to his call wasn't HIS PERSON he'd just shut up.

And a gray bird in a tree at night is hard to spot.

Wow, we have some group here. Good on you my friend, for trying so hard. I've lost 2 parrots in my life, recovered one, so I know how you feel. Calling the greys owner and having them take a look around great idea, but coming from Mark, expect nothing less.

First cold night and all I can think about while walking my dog is that possible African grey but any lost parrot and the onset of winter must be so scary. I missed birdmans post I had the email all made out. It was t sure if it was the right thing to tell them what I heard when I had so little to go on. Do you suggest still contacting the owner? I think it was twice actually I was getting ready to send an email and decided not to cause I just wasn't sure.
