What type of parrot is this ???

Hi
My friend has found two parrots that keep on coming to her balcony she says they are quite wild and will not come to her. I wonder if they are Lorikeets Could anyone help me identify what they may be and any suggestions for rescuing them if they are not wild?
Many thanks

Re: What type of parrot is this ???

Yep looks like an Indian ringneck to me too. There are numerous feral flocks in the UK, Europe and even Japan where pets have escaped or been released by owners who decided they didn’t want them for whatever reason, and they have been fruitful and multiplied. Which part of the world is your friend located?

Ringnecks-- they could be wild (as stated above) depending on location.

As above, Indian ringnecks, one of most common feral parrots. Where are you located?

Oh, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

This is so exciting...

I wonder what should happen in the future... how should the birds be helped/supported/protected? I know a lot depends upon location and circumstance...

This will be such edge-of-the-seat thread.

I know that many of our members have faced similar situations. I'm just glad this Community is here to help.

Re: What type of parrot is this ???

Ring necks definitely not my forte, but are we sure this isn’t an AFRICAN ring neck?

They look really similar, but african ringnecks usually have a more purple coloured beak

Ok, thanks. I was asking cause the body color seems...off to my eyes, as well as the head shape. But like I said, not my forte
