they fight bad what do i do?

I just got a pair of lovebirds. I was told they are a true pair, but they fight really bad. where I have thought about separating them. Is this normal or should I separate them? Doesn't look like any damage have been done. They are in a big enough cage.

What kind of fighting?

Toe nipping?

When Skittles (my current female) was with her old cagemate who she was bonded with, if I approached the cage, Kirby (old cagemate) would start biting her toes which was then associated with loud chirps and screaming.

It seemed to be more of a "protective" act to move Kirby's mate (Skittles) away from me
