Hi I'm new here and I have been researching cockatiels and more recently lovebirds. I first had decided on a cockatiel but now i'm thinking i may want a lovebird. So i had a couple of cages picked out that i really liked and i wanted to ask if they will work for a lovebird? I think they will but i want to get some opinions from someone who knows more than me.
Also any opinions on lovebirds vs cockatiels?

Firstly ~~ Welcome to Parrot Forum ~~
Both cage should be fine for both loveBirds and Cockatiels.
Browse through those old threads and find out more about both species before making your choice ~~ :D

I like the first cage more. I have had a lovebird in the past and know many people with them, and I own two cockatiels. Our lovebird was tame, but never had a problem throwing a hissy fit or biting. He was extremely loud and wouldn't stop screaming until we took him out of the cage, despite the large size and plethora of toys. He was beautiful and a clown to watch, but his temper and volume was a little more like a conure to me. I have two handfed tiels and I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They are theat perfect mix of cuddly, playful and gentle. Mine are housed together, but are still bonded to me. Cleo has a more bold personality and doesn't stop chit chatting, exploring, eating and begging for attention. Piper is a little more reserved, cuddly and mellow. They are relatively quiet (except for when they want to come out or morning.)

best of luck in whatever you choose!

I like the second cage more. Square cages are awesome because they provide LOTS of room for toys to hang down from and such. But the dome top cage, as long as it has support wire along the top to create places to latch toys, it should be fine as well. Really, it falls down to your personal preference. :)
