Is it bad for my lovebird that she won't eat anything other than her pellets and seeds?

I offer her things while I'm eating them but all she will do is turn her head or fly away if I continue to show it to her

Try giving her time to discover the veggies on her own. Leave a few chopped up in a dish in her cage. Put a favorite food on top of them (sprinkle a few seeds). Try clipping a large piece of something to the side of the cage so that it looks like a toy of some sort. We had to work for about three months to get my GCC to get to eat veggies but now he's a pro. His favorite right off the bat was red/yellow peppers but it may be different for your bird. Perhaps other lovebird owners can offer lovebird fave food suggestions! Keep trying, though. It can take awhile.

Have you tried apple? It seems to be my Ricky's favorite. It's the only fruit/veggie that he will do more than just nibble on, he usually eats it all! I am still working with him as well. Good luck!

What pellet food do you use?

If it's a decent pellet this shouldn't be a problem. Keep offering a variety of fresh foods to keep the food from being boring - but in terms of nutrition a good pellet should cover him pretty well.

The key is persistence and trying lots of different things. You'll want to use pellet, seed, and a calcium supplement at all times to make sure that she is still getting the most nutrients possible. From there offer all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies daily, you can try rolling the fruits and veggies in her seed and/or millet.

Other than rolling the veggies in seed or millet, try grinding up the pellets, and coating the veggies in that. Since the bird likes pellets, it may be enticed to try the veggies. Good luck, it takes time. Often the birds do not realize that these fresh foods are foods at all!

The good thing right now is that she eats seeds, pellets and loves her cuttlebone
but I am gonna try everything to at least get her to try something, shes extremely stubborn

im gonna try things that are red in color because she her favorite pellets to eat are the red ones

I had that problem with my YN ammies for the first dew days so i have been offtering them in bread form. Like organic banana, apple and zucchini breads. (the sugar free types) Then i switched to bread with mashed fruit on it since they seemed to love breads and crackers more then the fruit. Now they are not birdie garbage disposals. They eat any fresh fruits and veggies i can get my hands on =) Good luck and like the others said just be patient and give it time.

I just basically have to keep offering things in different ways and show her that they are good to eat. I even tried some fruit baby food she will taste it off of my finger and lick it off her beak but she won't actually get it herself

Tomorrow im gonna try again to offer her things throughout the day

Thanks for all the advice
