(Olympus "Oli", 10 mo/s, male)
On November 21st, at 6:00 pm my time; she finally arrived!

She's a beautiful Australian cinnamon/pallid peachface lovebird, and just an adorable little girl. I've decided to name her Elysium. ;)

Anyway, just wanted to get some advice on how I should interact with her. The first night, all I did was sit beside her cage and read out loud to her, which she seemed to enjoy. Yesterday I started introducing my hand into the cage, offering food in it, just leaving it in there, etc. She still has not touched me, but is entirely comfortable with my hand.

Last night I started locking my door and opening hers, to make her comfortable with her door being open and seeing if I could tempt her out. Well, I went to bed last night, woke up this morning, and opened it again, and she seems a lot more comfortable. The first two days she was pretty much lurking in what I fondly call 'her corner', but even now she's at her food bowl and cheerfully eating even with me sitting only about three feet away from her.

I wanted to post to see if I'm doing what I should be, and if anybody has any information on when I should ask her to step up, etc.

As a note, she is handfed, and was handled daily by the breeder. She's four months old and her wings are already clipped.

Thank you!
P.S. I'll try to get some pics up so you guys can admire her as much as I do, haha! :D

Oh my gosh, I would love to see pics of this little angel.....
Lovebirds are fun....
My Ava was completely quiet the first couple of days but then came out of her shell.
I would think it is never to soon to introduce "step up" but we will see what the others think. Congratulations.

Got two pictures of her from different sides. :D This was earlier, when she was happy; now she's all pissed because I had to move of her perches, haha!

Her tail feathers look violet to me; you can only see it in the second picture. Isn't she such a beautiful lady?! :p

She is a cutie for sure....don't you just love that blue in their tail feathers....it is so vibrant.
Do you have a little sleeping tent for her or haven't you given it much thought.....mine loves hers.....
Can't wait to hear of the adventures you two have together.
