Cage aggression

My daughters lovebird has a terrible case of cage aggression... puffs up like a blowfish and has drawn blood on more than one occasion! We've begun using a sleep cage which has helped a little bit, but she is still cage aggressive with her regular cage.
Any suggestions/ assistance would be much appreciated! :yellow1:

What do you mean by cage aggressive? Is she aggressive when you go to take her out, when you go to put her in or just when she's around her cage?

Cage aggression is pretty common in parrots.

I would recommend to get her a stand (if you don't have one yet) and put your lovebird on the stand for most of the time, make sure that she can't see her cage when on the stand, and move the stand to different areas throughout the day. Also spend some time with her doing every day thing, like watching the TV, have her beside you or on her stand. Try to get her away from her cage as much time as possible for now. Because her cage is her territory, and she will feel safe there. Bring her to different areas of the house, and if you can, get a harness (the aviator sells it in lovebird size) and bring her outside.

But as long as you bring her away from her cage daily, it would help after a while.

This has happen to Ozzie my alexandrine, he bites (and sometimes even now) when he is on his cage, but it's a lot better now.

Thanks for the responses... my daughter has her out of the cage for much of the time when she is home and, often, even when she is not home, I will bring her out to hang out with the family, so she is well-socialized--- her ONLY issue is the cage and, more specifically, being taken out of her cage. She is fine being taken to her cage & fine on my GCC's cage...but is also not good about being taken out of his cage, come to think of it. She's not AS bad with his cage, but still cage-aggressive to a lesser degree. If anything it's getting worse, which makes me wonder if it's her age? Hormones?
