Very happy with the progress I'm making with my lovebird.
A bit of background - she is about 1 year old and was purchased from a pet store NOT hand reared.
So far she has had only five 20-30 minute sessions out of her cage and she is now completely comfortable sitting on my hand, cuddling, receiving kisses. I tried to put her down on the floor but she wanted to stay on my hand. She didn't want to go back in her cage at the end of it and had a little tantrum! I can't believe how cuddly and affectionate she is especially considering how I have heard how hard it is to train an adult, "wild" bird. I think this may be the exception to the rule and I am lucky? Have never had any prior experience with handling birds either...
I'm chuffed :D

Training love birds when you just have one is a great experience. Whatever you do , don't think she may need a friend and add a second. Its a vary fast way to lose your bond and pet.
You are doing a great job. you may step it up to two 30 min training a day. :D
