So, I'm going to be adopting this little girl. She is female, because the breeder I'm adopting her from said she has had 2 clutches. But I know the process, and I have a cage set up for her to be in quarantine.

Getting clearance from my mom first. Lol the breeder I'd be getting her from is trying to get my to adopt a conure instead.

Are you BUYING her from a breeder, or is the breeder rehoming her for some other reason?

Oh, I don't say buy or rehoming. Adopting is a word I'd rather use when it comes to "rehoming/buying" an animal of any species. Word preference

They guy is like any other breeder, mainly focus' on Conures and Lovebirds.
And finding someone who breeds Lovebirds is hard to find where I live. It's about a 3 hour drive just to go see this girl. But I won't get a Conure, I think I'm still a little inexperienced for a bird larger then a Lovebird.

But he's putting her up for adoption (rehoming) because her mate died 4 months ago. I don't think he has another male old enough to mate yet.

You are buying not adopting no amount of word play is going to change that fact...

Sorry but adopting is usually a little more noble then hey what a pretty little bird...

And the breeder is probably trying to get more money out of you since a conure is a higher priced animal...

She is beautiful though.

It's how i feel with animals, I think of buying an animal as if your getting it from a pet store. But I will let you call it what you wish.

I won't be getting her for a while though, mom won't pay for her. So I asked the breeder if he could hold her for me, if not I'll be getting one of the little babies (Not as pretty as her.) So when I get paid (or if my friend is still going to buy her for me for my birthday.)

Yeah, I want a conure. I won't take the risk of it not getting along with my babies. I'll stick to lovebirds.

I agree with you, probably the best idea to not get a conure- not saying you couldn't care for it, of course!
However lovies are quite notorious for not getting along with other species- so unless you'd be able to cage them in separate rooms it would be difficult having birds who hate each other. :(

It'd odd though. Everyone has told me Lovebirds have to grow up with a bird of a different breed to get along with it. Gabby (Gonna keep the name Gabby even though Gabby is a boy) was about a year old when we got Mozzi (the Quaker Parrot) and Mozzi was about 4-5 months (not sure) Gabby and Mozzi got along just fine.

That's why I was questioning about the different breed.
