2 weeks and his butt looked so much better!
The redness went down, his scab was almost gone until he decided to pick at it today, and there's been some feather growth!

The doctor also said that the area by the oil gland felt less irregular and less hard meaning that the antibiotics were working fine and it wasn't a tumor (phew).

The scab was raw again and he issued me to keep administering the medicine he was on before and added down cream to place on it for the next 2 weeks again.

And to keep from picking he made a cape out of a latex glove. It took a while for him to cut it to the perfect size and my mom was cracking up while he was talking about making it into a muumuu LOL. Gizmo was not appreciative at all, he's still fighting with it. I also received a few nasty bites that sunk into my skin - but it's also the first time he's done that  . Right now he's resting in his cage, everything had to be moved down to the lowest level and the grate is covered in newspaper to make it more even for him and to stop him from tripping.

Just to add:
And after I decided to head out to go to the pet store nearby to check out the Betta's while I continue to get the materials for my tank and I spotted Rosellas! I never knew Hawaii carried them at all and I never knew how big they were. I was taken back a few steps and the pure size of them. I imagined them as a Cockatiel, not a larger Conure species! My next task is to try hold one ;) .

I forgot about the "most important" thing, a picture!

So I'm thinking he'll be a ghost, but hopefully it'll be off by then. So far his feathers have been growing in slightly but he can still rub against his scab which is getting smaller!
Most of the upkeep is keeping it clean, I'm not sure how but there is poop scattered ALL over on the inside. Oh, and having to clean one part of his feathers since they're starting to clump together and catch the droppings.

Wow, that cape actually works? I'm impressed. But he doesn't just bite through it?

It works pretty well! He's able to preen to a some-what degree but the biggest damage he can do is make a tiny dent it in.

I have to see if I can spot anymore pictures haha, I turn on the fan to the lowest setting and depending which way he's facing he becomes a model or a superhero. So far he's adapting to it quite well, when he has to jump on a perch he lifts his cape up a bit then jumps.

Looks like a haircut cape lol. Great to hear the update!
Ah! That's what it was, I was going to compare it to something but it was on the tip of my tongue. I sometimes call it his "I'm ready for lobster" bib because going inside he goes to one specific perch and just waits.

Haha! That's actually my favorite candid of him. I had to distract him from going off at his cape every second. That was a pretty lucky shot imo.

Thats the plan  . I'll be uploading it soon if I have the chance!

Update: His "ghost" costume is quite different. He was FINALLY able to chew through the original one by the neck, making a tear, and I spent an hour making a fairly decent blue one that he was able to slip off at 5 45 this morning!
I heard wings flapping, a little crash onto the newspaper the parakeets having a night fright.

After my attempt, my mom figured a better way and made perfect a perfect cape...not in white, but in translucent. So his OFFICIAL costume will be a realistic ghost.
