I would like to know how much food a lovebird goes through in the span of a month (pound wise). I have a lutino girl and she is out of the cage 8 hours a day or more and I would like to know from experienced owners if eating 2 pounds of feed a month is enough, too little, or too much. She eats two pounds of pellets a month and I supply her with a cup of mixed veggies, fruits and seeds every morning for breakfast. I just want to know to make sure she is not obese or too thin or anything.
How much pellets do you normally go through in a month for one lovebird? :rainbow1:

I have 5 birds including a lovie, but they won't eat pellets so they are on Volkman seed + veggies/fruits. 2 pounds for one birds seems like a lot to me, although I never kept track of how much they eat in a month, probably about 4-5 pounds. I just order new bags when the food is running low. And they waste tons of food (which I hate them doing).
I'm glad your bird is out of cage a lot. Is she flighted? If she moves a lot it's probably okay. Lovies like to overindulge, just keep eye on her weight. Mine flies so much, but still looks fat. :D LOL
