hi , i just brought this alby.. He is 6month with his owner.
And now i see pin feathers near peachy face area. Seems like as if its been molting. I wanna know how to sex my bird apart from DNA sexing.
As everyone says female lays egg even without male.. is that true..
by what age a female lays egg. it seems like a 8 month old bird.

The pin feathers could just be late feathers coming in from its original feathering and yes, birds can lay eggs without males present.....

As to sexing your bird without DNA, an avian veterinarian can do an invasive procedure, where they make a small abdominal incision and physically look inside the bird's abdomen to determine sex.....

Good luck.....

I have a female lovie who is 1 yo, and she hasn't laid an egg so far. If you make sure there absolutely nothing that can serve her as a nest she probably wouldn't lay one. Mine is always looking for a place to nest, but I just don't allow her to get one. :D

The front fingers of both feet mismis
Claw . one feet claw is coming but others still missing. I hope it doesn't create an issue in future for breeding or any thing else.
