Hi everyone! my names molly and my lovie's name is Prince, he's 12 weeks old I bought him about three weeks ago and he's been friendly, tamed and active up until a few days ago. His behaviour has changed completely, he is agitated, doesn't want to come out his cage anymore, he also sounds like he is crying or screaming when I try to take him out of his cage. I contacted his previous owner but, she did not really know what to do. Someone told me that he could be acting this way because he is ready to moult do to the weather change? Has this happened to anyone else? I just want my papa to be happy again :(:grey:

Have you ever heard or read of the term "the honeymoon's over" though I doubt 3 weeks would be enough time for your new feathered friend to have felt comfortable enough with its new surroundings to begin a bluffing stance to challenge for flock position.....and since lovebirds wean at 6-8 weeks, from what you've posted, I might be inclined to think your new friend might have been force weaned & really not yet ready.....if it starts begging, you will need to find out what formula it was being fed and offer it at least an evening feeding.....

If you use the forum's search function and use "trust & bonding" as your search parameters, you'll find over 300 hits, many of which should give you several answers to your questions.....

Good luck.....
