Hi there everyone
Im new to this thread and just wanted to know if anyone could help me with some issues im having with my lovies (i do apologize in advance for the long story lol)
I had 2 lovebirds 2years ago i bought them from a pet shop (i previously owned canaries which where so loving and very affectionate who sadly all died due to old age and being attacked by a hawk and have owned other animals)
I had a female and male masked lovebirds... the female died to reasons unkown and the male was very very sad and hardly chirpd and stopped being himself so i decided to buy another lovie to keep him company but ended up getting two (i couldnt resist theyre just so beautiful) they where very happy all 3 of them and got on very well... then one day one of the lovies a master escape artist somehow managed to open his cage door and escape tthrough a open window.. i done everything i could to get him to come back but he wast just gone and again was broken hearted..
i am now left with two lovies again a male and female they got on very good untill recently they startded fighting very badly and ended up having to take the male to the emergency vet as swhere she bit him the blood was everywhere and he nearli died and have to have a injection and be seperated..
I have recently started to let them out together under strict supervision and there hasnt been any fighting as of yet.
Is there anything i can do to help them get along better ?
And they are still rather wild and quite fearfull of me is there any way i can get them to be tame and step up and eat from my hand, i have tried alot of different ways but nothing seems to work they are rather stubborn little things
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated
