Hi all abit of back storie I started looking for a love bird back in December but had no success so after 3 months my mum suggested I look into parrotlet as she has one and its lovely so I went to the breeder and she had a lovely 4 week old blue I put deposit down and after 5 weeks of waiting the poor little guy stopped eating and died I was heart broken and started looking again with little success so yesterday my partner took me to a great pet shop that specialises in birds and got me a little lovie he is beautiful around 3-4 months not tame at all lol iv already had a nasty bite putting him in his cage
How many on here have started with non tame bird and got it tamed I know it takes time I'm just scared hel always be afraid of me

He looks very much like my lovebird (who is not tame consequently so I have no insight there)

Me!
My lovebirds I had were completely wild at about the same age. What I did was just let the birds out to do their own thing and just slowly got them used to me over time. After 6 months with lots of patience they became hand tame. One was a bad biter, but Rocky was a sweet sweet birdie. They ended up breeding unfortunately, but were still handled through the process and remained tame.
