lovebird
hi i have a lovebird with an injured toe(i think), the back left one. No swelling, no blood and no broken skin. She just seems to be favoring the other also not limping. She still is flying around and eating and drinking normal also still wants to be on me. Should i give it a day to see if she gets better and if not take her to the vet. The avian vet is so expensive just for the initial visit. I of course will take her if she isnt any better in a day or two and will keep close watch but do you think that is ok. Also I am not sure what happened there was no specific accident that I saw but she is very inquisitive about everything.

I do understand concern over expenses.
And it's very stressful for most birds to see the vet (mine included).
Given all that, I personally might wait day. If it is a minor injury, it might even be made worse by the trip.
Given all the normal signs you're describing, yeah, I might wait a day.

I think you could wait to see how she is doing tomorrow since there doesn't seem to be an injury. Could she possibly need her nails trimmed?
