My moms roommates who I stay with part time (long story) anyways they had a couple love birds dumpped off on them and they currently have 6 eggs the last one was laid like 2 weeks ago how long do they take to hatch?

The eggs should hatch 18 days from when the female started incubating them. Incubation begins when the female starts sitting on the eggs constantly. You'll have to determine the expected hatch date based on when the female began "sitting tight".

Actually Sharon, If I may, Lovebird incubation is about 23 days from the start of the hen sitting.

Sorry...I thought it was 18 days. I'm probably remembering it wrong...that seems to happen often lately!

I'm not sure when they started the incubation period I just know that there are 6 eggs and it seems like rosie and romeo ( the parents) have been sitting on them since atleast the 5th egg was laid you only see one of them out of the nest can (it's an actual empty washed out foldgers coffee can with like paper and stuff in it and a hole in the side)but more often than not it seems they are both always in the nest.

Just curious, since the parent birds were "dumped" on them, what do they plan on doing with six babies should they hatch?

Tayler (my moms bestfriends daughter) plans to handraise and keep them all. Then once she pulls the babies from the nest she is going to remove the nest.

So tayler checked the eggs and they were still unhatched and tayler held them up to the light only to find they were not fertelized
