Hey guys,

I have a somewhat silly question regarding one of my lovebirds. Ever since I got her she's had this line down her keel bone area in the middle of her chest (like the bird on this drawing here has: http://rainforestreports.weebly.com/uploads/1/5/5/7/15578800/1763477.jpg?710). I cannot get a good photo of her where it's showing but this is the closest (she's the one on the right):

Is this normal? Because my other two lovebirds are nice and round without any sightings of that line. Is it just different body types/conformations? I read somewhere that it means she's fat? She eats well, drinks well, plays inside and outside of her cage, is flighted so she works on those muscles so I don't understand how come she has it?

In comparison to my other two lovies she's not fat so I'm not sure if that's it? She's the one in the middle here, she weighs 50g (is about 5 months old). The yellow one to the left is 43g (is 2 years and 7 months old) and the one on her right is 60g (is 9 months old).

Thanks for any replies!

The lovies are not hand tame so I'd have to catch her in a towel to check, I can do it later today.

EDIT: She weighs 50g and the bone feels a bit pointed to the touch. Guessing by the anatomical shape of the bone that it's correct. I weighed all my birds (added info in the first post) and the area feels the same to the touch for all. Weighing was a first for them, they're gonna hate me for the rest of the day today haha

That weight and description sound fine. My lovebirds weight just about that (some even a bit more). I guess what called your attention was just feathers being fluffy.

If they are not tame you can just weight them inside a small cage.
