My baby lovebird (Morgan) is "losing" fuzz/feathers on top of his beak. He's approximately 7 weeks old. It is a bit concerning to me since he is a still a baby. He's the only bird at home and does not interact with other birds. We do take him to work and he roams free while in the office. It's not scaly or dry and it doesn't seem to hurt him when we touch his beak. He also doesn't scratch it.
He refuses to bathe and is a very picky eater. We mixed in cauliflowers and bean sprouts with his seeds, but he just picks it out and eats the seeds.
Morgan is very energetic and loves to climb and jump. At times when we leave him in his cage, he would rub his beak at the bottom of the cage trying to get out. Maybe that is why?
We do have a cuttlebone inside the cage for him.
My guess that it's just "growing pains" like a baby teething.
