So long story short of how I found this baby lovebird, I basically found him on the floor because his parents kicked him out of the nests. He looks to be about 2 weeks old. I've never hand fed baby birds before so I am very inexperienced but I still want to try and save this babies life. I'm doing the best I can for having almost no skill on this. I am feeding him the Kaytee exact formula. The problem is, that he doesn't eat. He barely eats any food and I don't want to force feed him because I've read online it can increase the chance of aspiration. His crop takes sort of a long time to empty and he definitely shows the signs of ever wanting to eat every 3 hours like I have been feeding him. He also makes this wet sort of sneezy sound which is worrying me and I don't know if it's already aspiration. I've read everywhere online that to feed them the have to show signs of being hungry like bobbing their head, but it's just this little one doesn't do that. I don't know what to do, I just really need someone's help because I want to save him.

Hi there! Whereabout in the world do you live? Based on him not wanting to eat and making wet breathing sounds, it looks like you need an avian vet to step in. We've members around the global who might be able to direct you to a certified avian vet.

Breathing issues rarely can be solved at home and often need direct intervention from an experienced avian vet. Crop issues, depending on the cause, might require a vet's assistance.

Are you keeping in him warm in a brooder of some kind that is around 90-95 degrees F (30-30 degrees celcius)? Could be a reason his crop isn't emptying. Where are you located?

I just now bought a heating pad for him, yesterday I had him wrapped in 3 blankets but I don't think it was enough but now he's definitely warm, it's the heating pad, then a layer of blanket and then he's wrapped in another little blanket. Im located in Miami Florida

Does the heating pad contain PTFE/PFOA/Teflon? If so, how hot does it get (teflon off-gasses and is deadly to birds).
