Hi

Our lovebird has started eating millet and doesn't want his formula. He doesnt seem bothered about the normal seed yet or fruit just the millet. Also I've not seen him drink any water on his own yet could you please advise on the best way of teaching him to drink the water in his cage.

While he's now starting to reject the formula should I maybe give him water with the syringe just to make sure he is drinking until he leans to drink himself?
Thanks

Do not feed him water with the syringe. You risk asphyxiating him this way. You can offer a bowl of water in his cage throughout the day along with a bowl of food and millet.

If it's one feeding he's refusing (should be on 2-3 formula feedings a day) cut back on one so he can try to eat on his own but continue to offer the nigh time feeding.
