Lonely Love Bird - Loud noisy LB

Hi, I'm looking for some advice.

I became the owner of a love bird after the owner a friend of mine died, I was looking after the bird at the time.

Originally he had a pair, but one unfortunately died. The remaining love bird that now resides with me he is tame appears healthy, but he does not stop chirping and squawking if I time it he will chirp/squawk several times a minute, continuously for hours at a time.

In the summer I put his cage outside but if I don't do this this seems to be the cause the LB to squawk continuously.

My theory is that the LB is lonely, when outside the LB will chatter back and forward with the local birds.

Can anyone make any suggestions, I have been told they prefer to be in pairs????

Thanks

love birds do like company. I love to watch them cuddle up and preen each other.

Hi

Do you consider it to be out of natural characteristics, for a love bird to be on their own?

Thanks for your reply.

The bird is probably sad and grieving for its lost mate and owner. I'm sure he's lonely, but before getting another love bird, try spending more quality time with him.
