A lovebird called snowblau hand-tamed by myself
I have a hand-fed, hand tamed lovebird who was born in my aviary. I take her out every day and keep her with me for 2-3 hours. However, when I try to put her back in the cage she becomes desperate not to go in it. She hates being inside the cage during day and night. When inside she is always trying to get out. I have had lovebirds for a long time but never hand tamed a bird. This is my first time.

Is there a different specification of the cage for hand tamed lovebirds?

Can you please suggest how I can make her go inside the cage?

Here is a picture of what she does when out of the cage, she uses my glasses as a perch and will rest on my shoulder, head all day :25::06:.

The cage should be the biggest appropriate one for her size, as far as bar spacing. Cage can never be too big size wise.

Make sure she has lots of toys to plat with in there. You can try luring her in with a special treat.

Do you let her enter and exit as she pleases during the time she is out? What you don't want, is a bird who associates going into the cage with getting locked up for another 14 hours, and the only way to avoid that is allowing your bird to see that she will not be locked up each time she enters the cage to eat etc. At the same time, never chase or towel your bird to get him/her back in, unless it is an ABSOLUTE emergency/safety issue.

She does not play with cage toys. She plays with my phone, glasses, and so on. I have had lovebirds for some time and I am well aware of their cage size.

Yes when I put her inside the cage I lock her up, I will keep that in mind next time not to lock the doors

I never towel my birds
