I like it when they're young until fledgling time, then they drive me nuts until weaning stage...After weaning them comes the fun part with training. :)

Aww adorable! I'm still weaning my Black masked Lovebird... Trying to anyway. Yesterday i put seed in with the formula on the table and he ate it.. So maybe i'll try that again today... LOL

i let mom and dad do all the work feeding them but i take them out and handle the babys every other day and then when they get there feathers i start doing alot of handling and this has worked well i start teaching them to sit on a play stand or on my hand my last batch i had people couldnt beleave i didnt hand feed them becouse they was so tame its hard work but i find it all very rewarding becouse i get to watch them grow and change

That's because your a hobbiest breeder! When I used to breed, I had so many it was easier to just yank and handfeed all. You wouldn't have the time to socialize with the youngsters, sometimes the parents wont let you touch them.

Who doesn't love babies! It's fantastic that your parents can help you hand feed while you train them. What a fantastic combo. All these photos are tempting me to add another member to our flock! Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations.....Very cute. We just had 4 new baby love birds a couple of months ago and our Avian vet suggested that we let the parents feed them. Worked out great. We just take them out every once in a while so they get used 2 humans. :) Boy they sure grow fast.....:rainbow1:

Yeah the 4 we have are already as big as ma and pa. The only way 2 tell them apart practically is by the color of the beak :)

i had ben training the babies to stay on the play stand while learning to step up and mom and dad sat and watched and every time they stayed lined up i would offer them some millet for being so good and it took me a week to teach them 3 to stay put ;)

Ava(peach faced lovebird) and my very first bird
Leroy (black headed caique) my little moody bird
Dusty (hahns macaw) my clown
Gotta LOVE the little lovebirds......
I use to be terrified of birds until my brother in law starting raising lovebirds....he had a little one that almost died but some how lived but wasn't sellable....she stole my husbands heart first and then mine...thus began my journey with bird ownership...I adore my little lovebird..............she is the best.
