I have a 7 year old that still takes "baby bottle" formula 2 times a day. If I don't give it she keeps yelling "baby bottle". Does this do her any harm? She is a good eater but wants that bottle.

Welcome to Parrot Forums! I know of a breeder with an adult Mac that loves her formula when it is the babies time to eat. She gets a smidgeon and it satisfies her tastebuds and she is a happy birdie. I don't think it is a problem; but, I will qualify my statement by saying I defer to those here on the forum with more experience :D

Again welcome and we would love to see some pictures! We live for pics! :D :D :D

Well, let me think about this for a minute ...

Have you tried to trick her? What if you put water in that bottle? If this is a "safe feeling" issue (the bottle makes her feel safe/comforted) then give her water in the bottle and heck, supervise her and give her the bottle ...

If it's a "taste" issue then I would allow the "taste" to continue ONLY if she is eating normally on her own!

Welcome to the forum, we look forward to adding more Macs to this forum!

It won't do her any harm, but I would definately try Tex ideas, and make sure that she's eating her normal food more than relying on the formula.

It could just be a comfort thing.

A friend of mine has a 20 year old CAG and when she was about 5 she was really ill, and had to have formula again, she is now a lot better but still taking the formula but eating very normally and healthily.

Welcome to PF, we look forward to seeing lots of pics, and hearing all about your fid.

Just curious, has she always had the formula or are you handfeeding little ones?
