I brought Madison down so we could wash up together before bed. I've been busy lately so we haven't gotten to do this as often as she'd like. After we finished, I rubbed some honey on my face because I'm weird and sat down to check the forum out. (It's actually very good for your skin..)
I leaned down to see something on my desk and Madison decided it was time for some cuddling and rubbed her head all over my honey-covered cheek. So now here is my Blue and Gold Macaw with her head stuck to my cheek, lol.
Wasn't stuck hard, just enough to make her tug away quick and look at me funny. :D
She was happy then because we got to wash our faces again.. she actually needed it this time!!

That's funny!!! Chewy doesn't like his baths. He gets one maybe like once a week.

LOL!

Fritzy once was having a little tummy trouble. Nothing major, just some wacky droppings mixed in with normal ones. As it was night, I put a drop or two of Gatorade in his water dish (it's an old trick) and was going to call the vet in the morning.

Next morning, I woke up to find a pink-tinged punked out parakeet. He had had a bathtub the entire week and absolutely refused to use it. No, the water dish containing the Gatorade was sooooo much better.

He was 'tie-dyed' for about a week. He really didn't take to kindly to the shower I had to give him that morning (he looked like a punk-parrot), nor the hair dryer to be able to take him to the vet that day. Fecal tests proved normal, but there is nothing like sitting in a vet's waiting room with a pink- tinged parakeet.

So, tell me, is Madison loving further spa treatments? Has she started soaking her feet, putting them up, and says "TOES"?

:D:D:D:D:D

Lol.. I can't believe you dyed your budgie you hippie! :D

Madison gets her feet washed after I rinse the soap off of my hands. She wants to do everything I do. Its very difficult to wash my own face. Trying to avoid her beak which is trying oh so hard to get close enough to share the water. Don't want her getting any soap on her, she doesn't seem to believe me when I tell her it's an ow boo-boo.
Madison absolutely HATES getting wet. She loves to come in the shower with me but she stands on the curtain rod and puts her foot up to protect her face whenever I splash her. Hates it when I bring her into the water with me. I don't know why she loves the night time face washing so much.

Flyte, there is humor in humiliation. If you're going to laugh about it 10 years from now, might as well laugh about it now. To be honest, I wasn't so freaked by the droppings (figured it would correct itself but wanted to make sure) as I was by the bath/tie-dye budgie. It wasn't like I was bringing him to the vet for fun. I also don't think the normal question/statement by a vet is 'you know he's pink?!?'

Looks like Madison is taking preening tips from you. Sort of yucky, no - but what did you do and let me follow... but it's yucky.

Best advice... allow no pictures. Any woman's beauty routine is private and not for public display. And with Madison, she might start selling yours online...
