i know regurgitation is a sign of love, but when i go to take TK out of his cage and i put my arm in, he grabs my hand and rubs his beak all over it and then regurgitates and licks my fingers, and yes its nice and all but he will do it on every finger and when i tell him no and try to pull my hand away he grips tighter !!! he will do it like 7 times, he bobs his head, regurgitates, eats it, then grabs the next finger im afraid he is going to lose weight, i dont want to be mean and punish him if this is his sign of love, but is this bad for him to do this all the time?
the bird shoppe says he thinks im his mate and he is trying to feed me, im wondering if this is my fault, when i first got him i got the advice to do things with him so that he would flock to me, so when i gave him a banana i gave him half and ate half with him, or a walnut i ate half then gave him half, is that why he is doing this?!

PS: he took a shower today! and had his wings and nails clipped yesterday:blue1:

Not sick, no, have you taken him to a vet yet to get a checkup?

However he does love you, maybe a little too much ;)

If he starts to regurgitates I would put him down and ignore him a minute or so to try to get him out of that habit. You don't want to be seen as his 'mate' as that can cause problems down the road. For instance when hormones hit, he could see your son or any friend as competition and become violent towards them.

Also if you don't want to encourage him putting his beak on your fingers, roll your arm or move your hand to make him focus on balancing a nd not nibbles.

Great the bird got a bill of clean health from the vet.
You bird sure loves you, he's way of expressing himself.

Mishka used to do exactly the same, rubbing his beak in my hand the regurgitating
.
How I got him to stop............. I diverted his way of thinking immediately, and distracted him.
When he began rubbing his beak on my hand, I removed my hand, and began to rub my own hand on my face, saying clean your beak. I stroked my face a few times, then made a fist, and told him to clean his beak, rubbing my fist gently on his beak. He began rubbing his beak in my fist immediately. He instantly thought this is a game, which we still "play" today.

Below is a video of how he "plays" cleaning his beak

PS... this vid was taken when we still thought Mishka was a female
