I have posted before my desire to add another bird to our family. I have had a dream of adding a greenwing however I was very nervous that the noise level would be difficult for husband to deal with. He does quite a bit of work at home in the evening. Subsequently I started to look at other birds that might fit the bill (mealys, galahs maybe even another grey) However I kept coming back to the greenwing. My breeder has an adorable, HUGE male baby that I have fallen in love with. I have spent the last few weeks visiting him on and off (almost hoping that someone would go ahead and buy him so I could stop obsessing over him!LOL) Well I have pm'd several members on this forum picking their brain on owning a greenwing. I have sat and had many conversations with my husband as well as trying to play loud you tube videos of macaws. He also reguarly goes to the bird store and has heard them in person. He has been very sweet saying that he was on board with getting one. So off we went on Monday and put our money down on the baby! We will not be getting him until October however I am just so excited! I must also say I am nervous. I was nervous when I finally put a deposit on our grey as well, I tend to overthink everything! This will be our final bird as even I have my limit. We will have our cag Dorothy, our rescue amazon Kiwi and now our greenwing "Moses". this is what I have decided on naming him. He did well the other night when the breeder and I put a harness on him for the first time. The breeder is going to continue to work with him until he gets home. He even lifted his wing after we put the first wing in, like ok, here you go! He is so sweet! I would love to hear from other macaw owners as to what I have in store for our family! I have researched lots & lots over the past year however it's always great hearing first hand!
