Isn't he adorable? He's exactly 3 months in the photo. They keep telling me he is big however I really don't have any frame of reference! LOL

wharfrat, I am wondering does he look like a large 3 mos. old? Can you even tell in the picture? He hatched May 25th. The reason I ask is because the breeder and everyone that works with the birds keep mentioning how big he is. I really am not familiar with young macaws enough to judge. I just know he is sweet as can be!

I'm gonna have to look and see what info I have from 3 mo. old, biggest factor is weight if I can find that on either of mine @ that age

My Neleno at 3 months old was pretty huge for a GW. I cannot find his records for his weight. You can normally tell how old a Macaw is by their eyes, If his eyes are full with very little pale yellow, then he is very young, as the Macaw ages, more and more pale yellow appears.
My Neleno at age 5 is just over 1700 grams and very large for a GW.
You have to love Macaw babies, they are very cute and clumsy. Enjoy Joe

Yes, JJones he is so very clumsy. He lifts his foot to step up everytime we open the door on the cage or even come near him. He is finally learning how to get his second foot up on our hand as well. He also makes the cutest rahp, rahp noises, sounds like a goose! I am just in love with him and look forward to him coming home! I will try to get a weight on him this week then maybe I can compare his size. I am also wondering when his bottom beak will turn black.

I'm guessing Stella is like that? Our GW's absolutely love being cuddled etc. Cannot say enough times, our GW's are the best of the bunch family wise.

Stella LIVES to be cuddled ! First thing out of the cage is to plant herself in my chest , lolol. She will stay there as long as you let her .
Baby is is extremely cuddly too , but not as much as my Stelly
She is just like a huge blue teddy bear
