That's because he IS burping... well, that is, he's mimicking a human burp. He learned it from the husband of his mom (who passed away in May). He also usually does it right after he goes and takes a gulp or two of water from his water bowl. He'll actually pause and burp like that between gulps. I think he's pretty funny!

It's about the best thing someone can have to look forward to IMO. I know that I was really looking forward to getting each of mine. In Salsa's case it was a bittersweet experience, though, because his mom who recently passed away was my best friend and Salsa was the single most important part of her life.Thanks!
The base pellets they get are Zupreme Natural Avian Maintenance but I give them some Harrison's (pepper flavor) and some Roudybush here and there as well. They usually won't eat much of the Harrison's or Roudybush though. Then on a daily basis they get organic apples and bananas as well as various vegetables - I try to always get organic when I can. I also feed them plenty of nuts (pecans, cashews, almonds, macadamias, pine nuts, and various others depending upon what's available). And, of course, I always have to give them some of whatever I'm having (as long as it's bird-safe). Since I eat lots of whole grains and organics, they get plenty of healthy variety.
