Blue Crowned Conure (Codex)
does anyone have experience with these two birds together? they look like similar size i was just wondering if conures and macaws can potentially get along.
Codex gets along ok with my roomates birds so i think she would be able to warm up to another parrot, but i was wondering if these two species typically get along or fight.

well it depends on the birds but i know that they can both get along as my friend has a mitred conure and a hahns macaw that love each other

Hello,
I recently adopted a BCC and he was living with a CAG and an IRN. I was hoping for my mixed breed peach front/brown throat conure to have a friend.

The mixed breed is half his size (Petri) and he doesn't like Rio (BCC) at all!!! Rio my BCC is twice his size as well!! Petri is the size of a GCC and is FULL OF IT!

They both fight for my love, but only the mixed conure tries to rub his bum on me, and they both try to feed me....its rather dramatic really.....

Just be careful, even though my BCC was raised to be fine with other species, I don't know the mixed breeds background and he wants me all to himself and he isn't going to share, even if the opposing bird is twice his size.

Take things slow, have their cages side by side and then go from there.

I've heard of several hahns x blue crown hybrids.... have yet to get my hands on a photo of one, though!!! Also has been a hybrid of mitred conure x noble macaw (no photo), nanday conure x illigers macaw (have photo), and possible nanday x hahns (supposedly jenday, too) and sun x hahns (confirmed and unconfirmed). Not to mention a possible B&G x patagonian hybrid (unconfirmed, breeder unknown).

So yes, I would say it's possible. I can't say that your birds will get along, only that it's possible.
